Caspian Environmental Laboratory (CEL) is an accredited commercial analytical laboratory operating in Azerbaijan. Since its establishment, it has been providing reliable, high-quality analytical testing, consultancy, and field sampling services in the Caspian region. Our laboratory offers expertise in both biology and chemistry.

The laboratory is staffed by qualified specialists and technicians with many years of service and experience. The laboratory operates in accordance with international standards. Caspian Environmental Laboratory has been ISO 17025:2005 certified since 2006.
Close cooperation with clients, reliable and fast service, and adherence to the highest quality control standards are the main principles of CEL.
Caspian Environmental Laboratory was established in 1998 in Baku by ERT LTD (Environment Resource and Technology, United Kingdom). The initiative was put forward by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC).
Since 2002, the laboratory was managed by the International Research Institute of Stavanger (Norway), Innovation Norway, and Eurofins AS (Denmark) and operated under the name Akvamiljo Caspian AS.
In December 2011, Akvamiljo Caspian AS ceased its operations in Azerbaijan, and since January 1, 2012, the laboratory has continued its activities as a local company.
From 1998 to 2012, CEL was the first environmental laboratory in Azerbaijan to provide research and analytical services both offshore and onshore for BP Azerbaijan.
The mission of Caspian Environmental Laboratory is to provide the most reliable and high-quality analytical and field services that meet client requirements, while also ensuring a professional, safe, and healthy working environment with satisfying career opportunities for our staff.

The laboratory holds the highest international ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation.
As part of the accreditation requirements, the laboratory participates in various proficiency testing programs, which enhances the quality of analytical services. Considerable time and effort have been invested to ensure that the laboratory meets the requirements of ISO 17025 standards.
The accreditation ensures that the laboratory complies with the general quality requirements specified in ISO 9001 and the specific requirements for analytical laboratories. The accreditation covers various organic and inorganic chemical analyses of water, soil, sediment, and sludge. CEL plans to expand this list of parameters over time. For our clients, this means an increased guarantee of the quality of analytical results.
